Oooh lah lah. Sauerkraut and more at the Hackteufel in Heidelberg.
Well, why not. We were in Heidelberg, we had just walked a long distance, it was raining, it was foggy, it’s vacation for Jim and Denise. And, it’s a 30th anniversary trip through Germany, home of sauerkraut and sausage. What better way to celebrate all of the above than by digging into the ‘Sauerkraut Orgy’ at the cozy Hotel Restaurant Hackteufel?
Along with the kraut came a dumpling, fatback, a wurst and a slice of the ham loaf typical of this area. A small bowl of gravy, perfect for dipping the dumpling, came along with a glass of white wine. Just right for this damp afternoon in Heidelberg.
