Ken and Gloria have taken one of those ‘If it’s Tuesday this must be Belgium’ bus tours through Europe. You know the ones. Breakneck pace, a different city every night and a different country every other day. They enjoyed the experience for what it was, but this time, for their return to Germany they wanted something slower. Much sllllloooooowwwwer. Two or three nights in each place, not just one. And at least two weeks in Germany, not just one. Ken searched and searched and could not find any bus tour offering a slow pace and quality time in his and Gloria’s ancestral country. Even AAA came up empty. Then he found European Focus Private Tours through a search on Google. And today, Ken and Gloria enjoyed their first non-rushed day in Bavaria with a visit to King Ludwig’s Neuschwanstein Castle followed by a visit to the Wieskirche and then lunch at Ettal. The afternoon included a slow wander through the quaint village of Oberammergau and a stop at a bakery for a cup of coffee and a pastry.
After two nights spent at a chalet lodge in Schwangau that we have been bringing clients to since 1997, we are off tomorrow for Meersburg on the shore of Lake Konstanz, Germany’s largest freshwater lake and the headwaters of the Rhein River.
